Registration Steps

Submit your free online application to Fullerton College. This is your first step — you'll need to complete your application before you can register for classes.

Identity Verification: As part of the application process, you may be asked to verify your identity. Visit the CCCApply Identity Verification page for more information and instructions.

Your first action after applying should be to contact the Veterans Resource Center (Building 1900, Room 1902). The VRC will help you set up your file, explain your VA benefits, and connect you with a veterans counselor.

Phone: (714) 992-7102 | Text: (714) 909-0144

Setting up your VRC file early ensures your VA benefits are in place before you register for classes.

Veterans who received an honorable discharge, general discharge, or other than honorable discharge are eligible for priority registration.

How to request priority registration:

  • Submit a copy of your military ID (CAC), DD214, NGB 22, or NOBE (DD2384) to the Veterans Resource Center
  • Request must be submitted prior to the start of the registration period

Note: Priority registration is not automatic — you must request it each time by providing your documentation to the VRC.

Financial Aid: Apply for financial aid through FAFSA or California Dream Act if applicable. This is in addition to any VA education benefits you may receive. Apply early — awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Assessment: Complete any required assessments or placement tests for English, Math, or ESL courses. View the English, Math, and ESL Placement Guide.

Orientation: Complete the student online orientation to get familiar with campus resources. Watch the Online Orientation video for instructions.

Schedule a counseling appointment: Once you have an established file in the VRC, call (714) 992-7102 or visit the VRC to make an appointment with the veterans academic counselor. Bring your unofficial/official transcripts to your appointment.

Note: Two weeks before and two weeks after registration each semester, counseling in the VRC is done on a walk-in basis.

Design Your Program: Use the class schedule to plan your courses. You'll find registration information, semester calendar dates, and other important details. The schedule doesn't replace your need for the Fullerton College Catalog.

Register Early: With priority registration, you'll have early access to class enrollment. Register as soon as your window opens — classes fill quickly!

To view your registration date:

  1. Log in to myGateway.
  2. Click Tools in the top menu.

  4. Click Registration Appointment Time (or select Registration Notices in the top-right corner).
  5. In your Student Profile, choose the correct term from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click the Registration Notices icon to view your Time Tickets.

Your registration date and time will appear under Time Tickets. The From date/time shows when your window opens.

Visit the How to Register page for step-by-step instructions.

After registering for classes, submit your Request for Certification form to the VRC. This is required to receive your VA education benefits.

Important:

  • If you enroll in a class not on your Student Educational Plan (SEPP), email the VRC counselor first to make the appropriate updates, then submit your Request for Certification.
  • All certification requests and questions can be sent to VRCCertifications@fullcoll.edu.

Pay your fees through myGateway to avoid class cancellations. Fullerton College accepts checks, money orders, Visa, and MasterCard. Cash is ONLY accepted in person at the Admissions & Records Office.

VA benefits note: If your VA benefits cover tuition, check with the VRC about fee payment procedures and timing.

A list of fees is available online.

Important: If you decide not to attend classes for which you have registered, it is your responsibility to officially drop within the published deadlines. Refer to the class schedule for deadlines. Students who drop classes after the refund deadline without having paid fees will incur a financial obligation and an administrative hold on their record.

Student ID: Obtain your student ID card, which you'll need for various campus services.

Parking Permit: Purchase a parking permit if you plan to drive to campus.

Textbooks: Buy or rent textbooks early, either from the campus bookstore or online.

Supplies: Gather necessary school supplies such as notebooks, pens, and a backpack.

VA book stipend: If your VA benefits include a book stipend, check with the VRC about how to access these funds.
