Frequently Asked Questions
What is Text Admissions & Records?
Text Admissions & Records lets you use your mobile phone's text messaging feature to send questions to — and receive answers from — Fullerton College Admissions & Records staff.
If you would like to speak with a staff member directly, please visit our Call Us page.
When will I get a response?
Text questions are answered within 24 to 48 hours during our regular office hours. Messages sent after hours will be answered the following business day. Messages received over the weekend may not receive a response until Monday or Tuesday.
What can I ask about over text?
Texting works well for general questions such as registration deadlines, enrollment steps, waitlist information, office hours, and general admissions processes.
Because text messaging is not a secure channel, staff cannot discuss the specifics of your student records over text. If your question involves your individual record — such as transcript requests, grade issues, residency status, or holds — our staff will direct you to continue the conversation over Zoom, where your identity can be verified with a photo ID.
Zoom is the best option for records questions. Join our Zoom room during office hours to get detailed, personalized help with your student record. This requirement is in place to protect your privacy under FERPA.
Texts that are harassing, libelous, threatening, harmful, or obscene, or that violate any applicable laws, will be reported to Fullerton College Campus Safety.
Does the service cost money?
There is no charge for this service. However, charges from your cell phone provider may apply — these vary by plan and carrier. Fullerton College is not responsible for any charges your provider may assess for sending or receiving messages.
