Variable Unit Courses
Some courses at Fullerton College are offered with a variable unit range, meaning you can choose the number of units you wish to earn — within the limits set by the course. You must select or confirm your unit count through myGateway.
Steps to Update Units
- Log in to myGateway.
- In the Tools panel, expand the Registration section and select Pass/No Pass and Variable Units.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the course you want to change.
- Select your desired unit value and click Submit.
- A confirmation message will appear when the change has been saved.
Not sure what unit range is available for your course? Check the Course Descriptions in the college catalog.
Important Notes
Unit changes must be completed no later than the course's withdrawal deadline. All changes must be made by the student through myGateway.
Increasing units: Additional enrollment fees will be charged. Pay promptly to avoid a hold on your account.
Decreasing units: Refund deadlines apply. Reductions made after the refund deadline will not result in a fee refund.
Withdrawal Deadlines
Withdrawal deadlines vary by course length and start date. Check your specific course deadlines in myGateway or the Class Schedule. Short-term courses have earlier deadlines than full-semester courses.
For refund policy details, visit the Fees & Refunds page.
