This page explains how to properly serve a subpoena for Fullerton College records. Subpoena requirements differ depending on whether the records requested pertain to a student or a district employee.

Student Records

How to Serve a Subpoena

Subpoenas for student records may be served by mail or in person. If served in person, a receipt must be signed by an appropriate classified staff member at Fullerton College. Copyists will not be permitted on the premises.

The necessary records will be compiled and copied by our staff for pickup or mailing on the release date noted on the subpoena, but no earlier than 15 days from the date the subpoena is served.

Witness Fee

The witness fee required to process a subpoena for Fullerton College student records is $15.00, payable by check made out to "Fullerton College."

Employee Records

Employee subpoenas are handled by the NOCCCD District

Subpoenas for records pertaining to Fullerton College employees (including current and former faculty, classified staff, and administrators) must be directed to the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Human Resources Department, not to Fullerton College Admissions & Records.

Serving an employee-related subpoena to Fullerton College A&R may result in processing delays. Please contact NOCCCD District HR directly to ensure your subpoena is received by the correct office.
