Nonresident Tuition Fee Waiver for English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes
AB 1232
Students who have resided in California for less than one year may qualify for the nonresident tuition fee waiver for their ESL classes.
To qualify, you must meet both of the following:
- Have recently settled in California and lived in California for less than one year. AND
- Be a recent immigrant OR recent refugee OR a person who has been granted asylum.
About This Waiver
The waiver removes nonresident tuition fees for ESL classes. Students are still required to pay the standard $46 per unit enrollment fee.
For example, a student approved for this waiver who enrolls in ESL 184F Low Advanced Reading and Writing for Non-Native Speakers (a 5-unit class) would pay $230 for the class.
Many students qualify for financial aid to help cover enrollment fees. Visit Fullerton College Financial Aid for more information.
