Add Codes

If the class has already started and seats are still available, you’ll need to get an Add Authorization Code (Add Code) from the instructor or the division office. This code allows you to register for the class online through myGateway.

You cannot use an Add Code until after the first class meeting.

Decoding Registration Terms

CRN stands for Course Reference Number. It’s a special number that helps identify each class at Fullerton College. When you sign up for a class, you use the CRN to pick the exact class you want. Every CRN is tied to a specific class, including things like the teacher, time, and place where the class meets.
If a class is full before it begins, you can try to register again later as seats may open if other students drop the course. Alternatively, you can petition to join the class by attending the first class meeting and requesting to be added. After the class begins, if seats may be available, you will need to see the instructor or visit the division office to obtain an Add Authorization Code to register for the course.
This error occurs when you attempt to register for a course you have already taken the maximum number of times allowed, or if you are currently registered in the course. You may need to consult with your academic advisor to discuss your options.
This error indicates that you have not met the prerequisite requirements or do not have the necessary test scores to enroll in the course. Contact the Counseling Office for assistance in understanding and fulfilling these requirements.
If you receive this error, it means that you are trying to register for two classes that have overlapping meeting times. You will need to select courses that do not conflict with each other’s schedules.
When a class section is closed and no seats are available, you should look for an alternative class to enroll in. Additionally, you may attend the first class meeting to petition for a spot if one becomes available.
This error occurs when you try to register for a course in which you are already enrolled. You should choose a different class to add to your schedule.
