Enrollment Steps
Complete your free online application to Fullerton College. The application takes just a few minutes and is required for all new students, regardless of how many courses you plan to take.
If you've taken classes at Fullerton College before but haven't enrolled in a full academic year, you'll need to reapply as a returning student.
Financial Aid: Apply for financial aid through FAFSA or the California Dream Act if applicable. Even part-time students may qualify.
Assessment: If your course requires placement for English, Math, or ESL, visit the Assessment/Onboarding Center to complete any required placement steps.
Orientation: Complete the student online orientation to get familiar with the campus and its resources. Visit Online Orientation for video instructions.
Schedule an appointment with a counselor to make sure you're choosing the right class for your goals and that you meet any prerequisites. Counselors can also help you explore what Fullerton College has to offer beyond just one course.
Use the class schedule to browse available courses, times, and term dates before your appointment.
Register Early: Classes fill quickly, so register as soon as your registration window opens. Registration dates are assigned about a month before the term begins.
To view your registration date:
- Log in to myGateway.
- Click Tools in the top menu.
- Select Student Tools → Student Services.
- Click Registration Appointment Time (or select Registration Notices in the top-right corner).
- In your Student Profile, choose the correct term from the dropdown menu on the left.
- Click the Registration Notices icon in the top-right corner to view your Time Tickets.
Your registration date and time will appear under Time Tickets. The From date/time shows when your window opens.

Pay your fees promptly after registering to avoid class cancellations. A full list of fees is available on the Fees & Refunds page.
Online: Pay with Visa or MasterCard through myGateway.
In Person at Admissions & Records: Pay with checks, money orders, Visa, or MasterCard.
Cash: Cash payments are accepted at the Bursar's Office, located across the lobby from the Admissions & Records Office.

Important: If you decide not to attend a class you've registered for, you must officially drop it before the published deadline. Students who drop after the refund deadline without having paid will incur a financial obligation and an administrative hold.
Student ID: Obtain your student ID card, which you'll need for various campus services.
Parking Permit: Purchase a parking permit if you plan to drive to campus.
Textbooks: Buy or rent textbooks early from the campus bookstore or online.
Supplies: Gather necessary school supplies such as notebooks, pens, and a backpack.

Campus Map: Get a campus map and locate your classroom before the semester starts.
Tour: Consider taking a campus tour to get your bearings.
Tutoring Center: Academic support is available to all enrolled students at academicsupport.fullcoll.edu/tutoring-center.
Library: Familiarize yourself with the library and its resources at library.fullcoll.edu.
Health Services: Health services and counseling are available to all students at health.fullcoll.edu.
Check Email: Regularly check your student email for important updates and information. Email address changes are done in myGateway — after logging in, click Update Information within the My Information widget. If you don't have myGateway access, complete the student information change form to update your email on file.
Canvas: Get comfortable with the Canvas learning management system if your class uses it.
Transportation: Plan how you will get to campus — by car, public transportation, biking, or walking.
Free OC Bus Access: With the mandatory transportation fee, you have unlimited access to OC Bus during fall and spring semesters. Visit the Fullerton College Pass Program for details. Bus passes are automatically uploaded to your OC Bus App account on the first day of the semester.
Parking: Know where to park and give yourself extra time on the first few days.
Clubs and Organizations: Explore clubs, student organizations, and extracurricular activities to get involved and meet new people.
Events: Attend campus events and workshops to enhance your experience.
Calendar: Keep a calendar or planner to track important dates and deadlines.
Syllabus: Review your course syllabus and note key assignments and exams.
Technology: Ensure you have a reliable computer and internet access.
