Add Codes

If a class has already started and seats are still available, you'll need an Add Authorization Code (Add Code) from the instructor or division office. This code lets you register online through myGateway (opens in new window).

⚠️ Important: Add Codes cannot be used until after the first class meeting.

Tip: Follow these steps to switch from Waitlisted to Registered once a seat becomes available.

  1. In myGateway, open the Steps to register for classes widget and click Register for classes.
  2. Select the correct Term and continue.
  3. In the Summary panel, find the waitlisted course. Change the Action to Remove from Waitlist (or Drop) and click Submit to clear the waitlist entry.
  4. Add the section again using either:
    • Enter CRNs -- type the CRN and click Add to Summary
    • Find Classes -- search the schedule and add to Summary
  5. When prompted with Authorization required, enter the Add Code exactly as given.
  6. Ensure the Action is set to Register, then click Submit.
  7. Verify Status changes to Registered (not Pending or Waitlisted).
  8. If the code fails, contact the instructor or department for a new code.
  9. For proof of enrollment: myGateway → Tools → Student Tools → Student Services → View Schedule/Bill.
  1. In myGateway, open the Steps to register for classes widget and click Register for classes.
